ConsignR ships a **public REST API designed for programmatic access**. AI agents, scripts, and third-party integrations are first-class clients — we encourage agentic use for tasks like bulk inventory entry, catalog enrichment, price updates, listing automation, and reporting.

- **Authentication:** Per-store API key in the `x-api-key` header. Keys are created in the dashboard under **Settings → Integrations → API Keys**, scoped to a single store, with granular permissions per resource.

- **Designed for agents:** Stable resource-prefixed IDs (`item_`, `product_`, `store_`), predictable JSON shapes, OpenAPI-described errors, and idempotent reads. No browser, cookie, or OAuth dance required — just an API key.
